Unseen footage! India’s T20 World Cup victory parade from the lens of the fan who climbed a tree | Cricket News

The fan who climbed a tree to get up close to the Indian team’s victory parade in Mumbai onboard an open-top bus made a lot of news even as clips of players reacting in surprise went viral. But how the view looked from the camera of that fan was not in public domain until a video surfaced on social media.
A sea of fans emerged at the Marine Drive on Thursday when the team arrived in Mumbai following their meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi. The T20 champions landed in Delhi on July 4 after a delay of a few days caused by a hurricane in Bridgetown, Barbados, after Rohit Sharma & Co won the trophy there on June 29 with a seven-run thrilling win over South Africa in the final at the Kensington Oval.

The scenes at the victory parade in Mumbai left the players overwhelmed by the love showered on them by the fans, who did everything they could to get a glimpse of their favourite players, which included this fan who climbed the tree to get as close as posisble to the victory parade that passed by.

The videos shows that after spotting the fan on the tree, Virat Kohli reacted in surprise, asking Ravindra Jadeja to look at the sight.
Some similar scenes were spotted elsewhere also, where one fan climbed up a traffic signal post.
The victory parade took hours to cover the distance of around 2-3 km to reach the Wankhede Stadium, where the team was felicitated.

The BCCI had earlier announced a whopping prize money of Rs 125 crore for the players and support staff.
This was India’s second success at the T20 World Cup, ending a 17-year wait since MS Dhoni’s team lifted the trophy first in the tournament’s inaugural edition in 2007.

It also ended an 11-year jinx since India won an ICC trophy. Before this, India’s last triumph at an ICC tournament came at the 2013 Champions trophy.
This was India’s third appearance in an year in the final of an ICC event, having lost to Australia in the World Test Championship final and the ODI World Cup final last year.
