Goa Lok Sabha Election 2024 Exit Poll Results: Battle likely to tie between BJP & Congress in coastal state | India News

NEW DELHI: The exit polls released on Saturday predict a tough battle between Congress and the BJP in Goa. The trends suggest that the final results on June 4 may see each party winning one of the two parliamentary seats.
As per Axis my India predictions, both the BJP and Congress party are likely to secure one seat in the coastal state.
The state of Goa concluded its polling in the third phase on Lok Sabha elections, which took place on May 7.
Goa consists of two parliamentary constituencies where the BJP and Congress are in direct competition with each other.
The saffron party has fielded minister of state and sitting member of parliament Shripad Yesso Naik for the North Goa constituency, while Pallavi Shrinivas Dempo has been chosen for the South Goa constituency.
Meanwhile, the grand old party has fielded former deputy chief minister of Goa, Ramakant Khalap to challenge the incumbent MP Naik in North Goa, and Viriato Fernandes for the South Goa parliamentary seat.
Goa’s turnout surpassed the national average of 64.5% for the third phase of polls, with a political observer attributing it to polarization among the electorate in the state.
Goa’s electorate showed remarkable resolve, with a provisional figure of 75.2% of the 11.8 lakh voters peacefully casting their ballots on May 7 for the two Lok Sabha seats. This voting percentage is marginally higher by 0.6% compared to the last parliamentary election in 2019, leaving political parties in suspense regarding the outcome of the results, to be declared on June 4.
