Day 3: PM Modi continues 45-hour meditation retreat in Kanniyakumari | India News



NEW DELHI: PM Narendra Modi on his third and final day of his meditation retreat in Kanniyakumari, began the day by performing the ‘Surya Arghya‘ ritual at sunrise at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, according to officials.
The ‘Surya Arghya’ is a spiritual practice that involves offering salutations to the divine in the form of the sun. The Prime Minister poured a small amount of water from a traditional vessel into the sea as an offering and prayed using his prayer beads, known as a ‘Japa mala.’

Dressed in saffron attire, PM Modi also paid floral tributes to a statue of Swami Vivekananda.He then walked around the mandapam, holding his prayer beads in his hands.

Kanniyakumari is renowned for its stunning sunrises and sunsets, and the Vivekananda Rock Memorial is situated on a small islet near the shoreline. The Prime Minister began his meditation at the memorial on the evening of May 30 and is expected to conclude it on the evening of Saturday.
